Can I buy property abroad without visiting?
Yes. With Crown Continental you can view by live video, reserve, sign and pay from home, and see the property in person for the first time at handover.
Do I need a lawyer if I buy remotely?
We always recommend an independent lawyer in the market, whether you visit or not. They check the contract and the title for you and, where a market needs someone to act in person, can do so on your behalf.
What if I need to sign something in person?
In most of our markets the documents can be signed from home. Where a step has to be done in the country, your lawyer can usually act for you under a power of attorney. Each market’s buying guide sets out its own process.
Is it riskier to buy without visiting?
The risks of an off-plan or overseas purchase are the same either way, and so are the checks. What protects you is the developer’s record, the contract and paying only into the right account, not the flight.
