The routes to living in Saudi Arabia.
Our verdict. Saudi Arabia's Premium Residency for real estate owners suits a buyer who wants to live in the kingdom for as long as they own a finished home worth SAR 4 million or more. The home must be developed, valued by a Taqeem-accredited valuer, in a designated area and bought without real estate financing; off-plan homes and land are excluded. A spouse, children under 25 and parents can be included, and salaries carry no personal income tax. The drawback is the cash: no mortgage at all, and the residence ends when the property is sold. Set against the UAE Golden Visa, the threshold is about twice as high, and off-plan homes do not count.
