The routes to living in Georgia.
Our verdict. Georgia suits a buyer who wants low-cost residence and a light tax regime. A non-agricultural property worth more than US$150,000 brings a one-year renewable permit; more than US$300,000 brings a five-year investment permit, renewable three years at a time up to twelve, with permanent residence after five. Processing takes 10 to 30 calendar days, depending on the fee, and foreign-source income is exempt. The catch is the rising bar: the short-term threshold went from US$100,000 to US$150,000 on 1 March 2026, and citizenship takes about ten years. Against Turkey's property permit, the entry price is lower, and British, American, Saudi and Emirati visitors can already stay 365 days.
